Tide on Tour: The Open and the Barracuda Championship

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – A total of five former Crimson Tide golfers will be competing this weekend in a pair of PGA TOUR events. Three Alabama alums will compete at The Open in Ireland for the final major championship of the season, meanwhile the remaining two will participate in the Barracuda Championship, including defending champion Nick Dunlap.

Each event will take place July 17-20 with The Open being played at the Royal Portrush Golf Club on the Dunluce Links in Portrush, Ireland, and the Barracuda Championship being held at the Tahoe Mountain Club on Old Greenwood Golf Course in Truckee, Calif. 

Below is a look at the former Alabama men’s golfers that will be competing at this weekend’s events.

Nick Dunlap

  • The 2024 Barracuda champion and reigning PGA Tour Rookie of the Year is competing in his 20th event of the season
  • Has made the cut in 11 of his previous 18 tournaments on the year, highlighted by a 10th-place finish at the Sony Open in Hawaii and 11th-place finish at last week’s John Deere Classic
  • Finished T10 with a score of 14-under par 274 in the 2024 Rocket Classic
