Doris Lemngole Qualifies for World Championships as Member of Team Kenya
NAIROBI, Kenya – Alabama track and field star Doris Lemngole punched her ticket to next month’s World Athletics Championships as a member of Team Kenya.
While competing at the Athletics Kenya Trials in Nairobi, Lemngole clocked a coveted, top-two finish in the women’s 3,000-meter steeplechase (9:24.69) to secure her place on the Kenyan national team for the international event, held Sept. 13-21, in Tokyo.
The 2025 Bowerman finalist concluded her sophomore year by defending her steeplechase national title, becoming the first student-athlete in women’s collegiate history to run a sub-9:00 time of 8:58.15.
