Clifford Omoruyi and Max Scharnowski Represents Men’s Basketball on NABC Honors Court
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Alabama men’s basketball seniors Clifford Omoruyi and Max Scharnowski was recognized on Thursday by the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) as a member of its 2024-25 Honors Court. In addition to Omoruyi and Scharnowski’s honor, the program earned the NABC Team Academic Excellence Award for its effort in the classroom.
The NABC Team Academic Excellence Awards recognize programs that completed the 2024-25 academic year with a team GPA of 3.0 or higher. The NABC Honors Court, meanwhile, includes junior, senior and graduate student men’s basketball players who finished the 2024-25 year with a cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher.

- One of seven SEC schools to receive the Team Academic Award Excellence award
- Made back-to-back appearances in the Elite Eight in the NCAA Tournament for the first time in program history

- Recorded a pair of double-doubles on Feb. 22 vs. Kentucky and during the Round of 32 in the NCAA Tournament vs. Saint Mary’s
- Scored double-figures in 12 games, including a season-high 17 points vs. Robert Morris in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament
- A three-time SEC Academic Honor Roll selection
- Named the NCAA Elite 90 Award Recipient in 2024
- Appeared in 10 games, scoring two points in the season opener vs. UNC Asheville
- Grabbed four rebounds throughout the season
