Women’s Cross Country Earns At-Large Bid for National Championships
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – A day after the No. 9 Alabama men’s cross country team earned an automatic berth to the 2025 NCAA Cross Country Championships, and defended its South Regional team title, the No. 15 Crimson Tide women garnered an at-large bid, announced Saturday by the NCAA.
The UA women will be making their sixth straight appearance, 14th overall, at the national meet.
This year’s National Championship will be held Saturday, Nov. 22, in Columbia, Mo., along the Gans Creek Cross Country Course.

- With Saturday’s announcement, the UA women will be making the program’s 14th appearance at the national meet, and the sixth consecutive
- Alabama finished just outside the top-two automatic berth cut-off at Friday’s South Regional Championships, taking third place behind Florida and Tennessee
- Last season, the Tide earned its third straight top-10 team finish (10th), marking five consecutive years with a top-15 team finish at nationals
- Individually, Doris Lemngole captured her then second national title, and first in the 2024 cross country season. Teammate Brenda Tuwei also garnered All-America honors with her top-30 finish (29th).

- With its first-place finish at Friday’s South Regional Championships, the UA men earned an automatic berth to next week’s National Championship
- The feat marked the ninth regional title for the program
- This year, Alabama will be making its 24th team appearance at the national meet, and fourth in the last five years
- Last season, the Tide finished 18th as a team – the program’s 12th top-20 finish at NCAAs – as the performance was highlighted by three top-75 individual finishes (Dismus Lokira, 41st | Victor Kiprop, 51st | Dennis Kipruto, 75th)
