Gators Fall in Three to No. 6 Texas A&M
The Gators struggled to find their offensive rhythm, hitting .188 compared to the Aggies’ .348. Aniya Madkin paced the Florida attack with 10 kills, marking her 10th double-digit performance of the season. Jaela Auguste and Jordyn Byrd followed with eight kills apiece.
Alexis Stucky and Taylor Parks split setting duties on the night. Stucky dished out 17 assists through the first two sets, moving into 10th all-time in Florida history with 2,854 career assists. Parks commanded the Gators attack in the third set, finishing with 12.
At the net, Florida totaled 5.0 team blocks, led by Alec Rothe’s three. Auguste and Stucky added two apiece, while Byrd and Milica Vidacic each contributed one.
Florida’s backcourt was evenly distributed with Ella Vogel leading the way with eight, followed by Lily Hayes with seven. Emily Canaan (6) and Parks (5) combined for 11, while eight additional Gators contributed to the Gators 39 team digs: Bella Lee (2), Auguste (2), Stucky (2), Rothe (2) Vidacic (2), Kira Hutson (1), Byrd and Madkin (1).
Behind the service line, Vidacic had three of Florida’s six aces. Auguste, Stucky and Parks each added one.
Texas A&M’s Logan Lednicky, an AVCA Player of the Year Semifinalist, led the Aggies offense with 14 kills with a .423 hitting clip.

How It Happened
Set 1
- The Aggies opened the first set on a 6-1 run to force an early Florida timeout. The Gators responded with a pair of attacks from Auguste and a 3-0 scoring run with Stucky being the service line to stay within five midway through the frame. However, Texas A&M responded with five-straight points to push its lead to eight (18-10). Florida kept the fight with an ace from Auguste and back-to-back kills from Byrd, but the Aggies were able to hold the lead and come away with a 25-17 win.

Set 2
- A block from Stucky and Auguste put the Gators first on the board, but the Aggies responded with a 4-0 scoring run. Attacks from Byrd, Rothe and Madkin kept Florida within two, but an ace and a kill from Texas A&M extended their lead to 9-13 and forced a Gator timeout. Out of the huddle, a block from Rothe and Vidacic followed by a kill and an ace from Vidacic brought Florida back within two (15-17), but back-to-back points from Lednicky handed the Aggies a 21-17 lead. Out of a Gator timeout, Texas A&M pushed to set-point, but a slide attack from Rothe kept the Gators alive before falling 18-25.

Set 3
- After falling behind by three, a kill from Madkin and a solo block by Auguste brought Florida back within two before Texas A&M responded with three straight points to go up 7-3. The Gators’ middle attack contributed key points to cut the deficit to three and back-to-back aces from Viadcic gave Florida its first lead of the set, 14-13. The Gators maintained their rhythm down the stretch, with consecutive kills from Byrd to push the lead to 19-17 and forcing a Texas A&M timeout. Out of the break, Parks delivered an ace to extend the lead to 22-17, but the Aggies rallied with a 7-0 run to close out the frame with a 25-23 win.
