Bulldogs Sign No. 1 Recruiting Class for 2026

ATHENS, Ga. — The University of Georgia men’s golf team signed the nation’s top-ranked 2026 recruiting class, according to CollegeGolfCommits.com. The class features U.S. Amateur Champion Mason Howell of Thomasville, Georgia; U.S. Junior Amateur Champion Hamilton Coleman of Augusta; and Drew Woolworth of Lake Oswego, Oregon, who is ranked among the top 15 players on the Junior Golf Scoreboard.
 
“We are very excited to have these stellar golfers sign with Georgia,” head coach Chris Haack said. “They bring a level of experience and championship caliber that will propel us for seasons to come. We can’t wait for them to join us next fall.”
 
Mason Howell – Thomasville, Georgia 
Howell won the 2025 U.S. Amateur, making him the third-youngest winner to hoist the Havemeyer Trophy. His win secured his spot on Team USA for the 2025 Walker Cup, where he went 2-0-1 in his matches and was the only junior golfer on Team USA.  which the Americans went on to win in Pebble Beach, California. He again represented the United States the US at the World Amateur Team Championship in Singapore where he finished 20th and was the low American. Seventeen years old at the time, Howell qualified for the 2025 US Open at Oakmont, making him the youngest player in the field, by finishing as co-medalist after a pair of bogey-free 63s at Piedmont Driving Club for final qualifying in June. Ranked 4th on Junior Golf Scoreboard, Howell is also a member of the U.S. National Development Program’s Georgia State Team. He attends Brookwood High School and is set to graduate in the spring. 
 
Hamilton Coleman – Augusta, Georgia 

Coleman will arrive in Athens as the reigning US Junior Amateur Champion, which he won at Trinity Forest Golf Course in Dallas, Texas. He was the fourth future Bulldog golfer to claim this title, including major champion Brian Harman. His win earned him a spot on Team USA’s Junior Ryder Cup team, which dominated Europe and Ireland in early September. In 2024, Coleman won the Junior Players Championship held at TPC Sawgrass. And not far from his own home, he advanced to the Drive, Chip & Putt National Finals at Augusta National Golf Club in 2022. The 18-year-old is ranked sixth by the Rolex American Junior Golf Association rankings, third in the class of 2026. Coleman is also a member of the U.S. National Development Program’s Georgia State Team. He plans to graduate from Lakeside High School in May. 
 
Drew Woolworth – Lake Oswego, Oregon
Ranked in the top 15 on Junior Golf Scoreboard, Woolworth has nine career AJGA top ten finishes. He is a two-time 6A Individual State Champion in 2024 and 2025, along with being a part of two team state championships in 2023 and 2025. Twice named Oregon State Player of the Year, he set the state tournament scoring record in 2025 at 11-under par. Woolworth also won the Pacific Northwest PGA Championship in 2023 and 2025. The three-time USGA Junior Amateur Qualifier advanced to match play in the 2025 US Junior Championship with future teammate Mason Howell. He finished eighth at the 2025 PGA Junior Championship. He will graduate from Lake Oswego High School in the spring.
