Walton and Okaloosa Counties Traffic Advisory
Walton County – 11/07/25 – Drivers will encounter traffic disruptions on the following state roads in Okaloosa and Walton counties as crews perform construction and maintenance activities.
All activities are weather dependent and may be delayed or rescheduled in the event of inclement weather. Drivers are reminded to use caution, especially at night, when traveling through a work zone and to watch for construction workers and equipment entering and exiting the roadway.
Walton County:
• U.S. 331 Resurfacing from south of I-10 to U.S. 90 – Drivers will encounter the following construction-related traffic impacts Sunday, Nov. 9 through Saturday, Nov. 15:
The U.S. 331 northbound middle-turn lane is temporarily closed at the U.S. 90 intersection. One U.S. 331 northbound left-turn lane and one right-turn lane are available to access U.S. 90.
The U.S. 90 westbound outside travel lane is temporarily closed between 11th Street and U.S. 331. One U.S. 90 westbound travel lane and one left-turn lane to access U.S. 331 remain open.
Intermittent and alternating U.S. 331 lane closures between Bruce Avenue and U.S. 90, from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. for paving operations.
• U.S. 98 Intersection Improvements at U.S. 331 – Motorists may encounter intermittent lane closures Sunday, Nov. 9 through Thursday, Nov. 13 from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. for paving operations.
Okaloosa County:
• Brooks Bridge Replacement Project – Drivers may encounter intermittent lane closures, Sunday, Nov. 9 through Thursday, Nov. 13, from 9 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. for construction activities at the following locations:
Santa Rosa Boulevard from U.S. 98 to Ross Marler Park. Signage and traffic flaggers will be in place to safely direct drivers through the work zone.
U.S. 98 from Ferry Road to Pier Road.
• State Road (S.R.) 85 Improvements from S.R. 123 to Hospital Drive – Next week, drivers may encounter intermittent lane closures at the following locations and times:
S.R. 85 northbound, from Shoal River Bridge to Interstate 10 (I-10), Sunday, Nov. 9 through Thursday, Nov. 13 from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m.
S.R. 85 southbound, from I-10 to Shoal River Bridge, Sunday, Nov. 9 through Thursday, Nov. 13 from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.
• I-10 eastbound Rest Area and Truck Parking Improvement Project – The I-10 westbound rest area near mile marker 60 will be temporarily closed Sunday, Nov. 9 and Monday, Nov. 10, from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. for paving operations. In addition, the truck parking at the I-10 eastbound rest area at mile marker 59 is temporarily closed for a 120-day period and is scheduled to reopen in mid-February 2026. During construction, passenger vehicle parking and rest area facilities will remain open.
• U.S. 98 Resurfacing from Santa Rosa County Line to west of Josie Road – Motorists will encounter the following traffic impacts:
Lane closures are expected on Sunday, Nov. 9, through Thursday, Nov. 13, from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. for shoulder work.
• S.R. 393 (Mary Esther Boulevard) City of Mary Esther’s Veteran’s Day Parade from Anchors Street to Hollywood Boulevard – Motorists will encounter road closure Tuesday, Nov. 11 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. for the City of Mary Esther’s Veteran’s Day Parade.
