Paskauskas, Nong Both Advance In ITA Women’s South Regional Championships
BATON ROUGE, La. – Florida’s Gabia Paskauskas recorded a 6-4, 6-4 two-set sweep over Tennessee’s Leyla Britez Risso in her quarterfinals match in the main draw of the ITA Women’s South Sectional Championship, Saturday. Britez Risso was the overall three seed in the tournament.

Xinyi Nong advanced past teammate Lucie Pawlak via a walkover in their quarterfinals meeting. In the women’s singles consolation draw, Valery Gynina bested Kentucky’s Zoe Hammon, 6-3, 6-4 in the semis.
In doubles action in the main draw, Nong and Nikola Daubnerova topped Vanderbilt’s Bridget Stammel and Velria Ray in the semifinals, 7-6 (7-3), 6-4.
