Dobson Named SEC Women’s Freshman Swimmer of the Week
ATHENS, Ga. – University of Georgia swimmer Kennedi Dobson was named Southeastern Conference Women’s Freshman Swimmer of the Week, as announced Tuesday afternoon by the league office.
Dobson continued the outstanding start to her Georgia career with a strong performance last weekend at Florida. The Levittown, Pennsylvania native remained unbeaten in the 500-yard freestyle with an NCAA cut time of 4:38.28. In the 1,000y freestyle, she placed second with a time of 9:31.20, the 10th-fastest mark in program history. She also finished second in the 200y freestyle and anchored the Bulldogs’ second-place 200y freestyle relay with a 22.69 50y free leg.
Dobson was previously named SEC Woman’s Freshman of the Week on Oct. 21 following her performance in the Georgia Tech Dual Meet Tournament.
