Last Updated: November 2, 2025By

TALLAHASSEE – The Florida State women’s basketball team will welcome Florida A&M on Monday at 6 p.m. to open the 2025-26 season at the Donald L. Tucker Civic Center.

FSU leads the all-time series 26-8, following a 93-54 victory last season at home. Monday’s contest will mark the first time since 1997-98 the teams have played each other in consecutive seasons.

Fielding seven new players, the Seminoles split the exhibition games ahead of the season. Alabama took the win in the Ballin Boutin Exhibition in Birmingham, Alabama, 91-71 on Oct. 16. FSU pulled away from Tampa to defeat the Spartans 84-63 on Oct. 28 at home.

Sydney Bowles led the Noles against Alabama, registering 21 points, while Pania Davis was the leading scorer against Tampa with 17. In both games, the Noles had three in double figures, as Jasmine Shavers scored 10 against the Crimson Tide and Sole Williams had 10 against Tampa.

The game will be streamed on the ACC Network Extra and fans can listen to Seminole Sport Network on 96.5 The Spear as well as on Sirius XM.

Kay Yow Servant Leader
Bowles will wear a patch on her uniform for the 2025-26 season indicating her selection as the Kay Yow Servant Leader Award winner.

The patch embodies the character traits of Kay Yow – uplifting, powerful, drawing and giving strength. It is a representation of the “ripple effect” of servant leadership and the positive impact it can make in the fight against all cancers affecting women.

Recipients of the Servant Leader Award are people of great character who put the needs of others before their own, who uplift others, and who do it with grace and humility. Nominated by FSU head coach Brooke Wyckoff, Bowles exemplifies Coach Yow’s spirit and who reflects her resolve, grace, generosity, and servant’s heart. Winners display courage and strength, and their first response is to give to others. They are people who have or will make an impact in the fight against cancer – improving lives and giving hope.
