Garcia, Bulldogs Expand Leads At The Robbie

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — Maria Garcia and the Georgia women’s golf team increased their leads during the second round of The Robbie at the Robert Trent Golf Trail at Hampton Cove Course on Saturday. Garcia is at 7-under and the Bulldogs are 13-under, giving them 3- and 17-stroke leads, respectively, entering the final round.

• Garcia owns a 3-shot lead over teammate Karoline Tuttle, who is second on the individual leaderboard. In addition, Eidhagen Harrouch and Givens are tied for eighth at 1-over and Celine Brovold Sanne is tied for 12th at 2-over 146.

• Georgia posted its best team round of the season, an 8-under 280, by counting Garcia’s 4-under 68, a 3-under 69 from Maria Eidhagen Harrouch, a 2-under 70 from Tuttle and a 73 from Sydney Givens.

• Garcia celebrated her birthday on Saturday by recording her second-straight bogey-free round. On Saturday, she birdied No. 1, No. 3, No. 14 and No. 17.

• For the second consecutive day, the Bulldogs started at a red hot pace. After playing the first six holes at 7-under as a team on Friday, Georgia covered its first three holes on Saturday at a 5-under clip.

• Eidgagen Harrouch played the front nine at 5-under. She birdied No. 1, No. 3, No. 5 and No. 6 before a bogey No. 8. Eidhagen Harrouch bounced back with an eagle-3 at No. 9, a 511-yard, par-5. She moved to 7-under through 11 holes before finishing her loop at 3-under.
