Rusher Performs Strong at Crimson Tide Fall Challenge
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The Florida State men’s tennis team concluded competition at the Crimson Tide Fall Challenge on Sunday in Alabama, as Azariah Rusher had a strong performance in the singles main draw.
Rusher went 2-1 on the weekend and made an appearance in the final round of the singles main draw. Rusher defeated Noah Schlagenhauf of Ole Miss (6-1, 3-6, 6-3) in the first round and Jack Satterfield of Vanderbilt (6-7 (4), 6-4, 6-0) in the second round. Rusher dropped his final match of the weekend to Billy Blaydes of Auburn, 7-5, 3-6, 10-4.
In the doubles action, Oren Ezerzer teamed up with Lokko Russell of Louisville in the round of 32 to beat Ole Miss Gordon Whitell and Benjamin Martin 6-2 before falling to Vanderbilt’s pair of Donghyun Hwang and Callum Markowitz, 4-6, in the second round. Rusher also saw action alongside Justin Lyons with a victory over Billy and Freddy Blaydes of Auburn, 6-4.
Florida State will travel to Destin Beach, Florida, to compete in the Battle at the Beach from November 6-9.
Florida State will split up from November 6-9 for the ITA Sectional Championships in Athens, Georgia, and the Battle at the Beach in Destin, Florida.
