Gators, Widjaja tied for lead at The Ally
WEST POINT, Miss. – The Florida women’s golf team and Elaine Widjaja are both tied for the lead after the opening round of The Ally at Old Waverly Golf Club on Monday.
Widjaja logged a round of 68 (-4) that featured only one bogey as she shot a bogey-free 3-under back nine. In par-5 scoring, she ranks first with a mark of 4.25 (-3). She currently sits in a three-way tie with Iowa’s Maura Peters and Ole Miss’ Filippa Sundquist.
One shot behind the leaders features Addison Klonowski in T4 at 3-under. In her third low round of the season, she had a bogey-free 69 with 15 pars and three birdies. One stroke back of Klonowski is freshman Katelyn Huber in T7 at 2-under. The Gainesville native carded her team-best fourth under par round and only had one bogey this afternoon.
Florida’s final counting score came from Megan Propeck with a 73 (+1) and is tied for 23rd. The next two Gators competing are Paula Francisco and Sophie Stevens tied for 42nd at +3.
