Ramadan to Compete for Egypt in Women’s Africa Cup of Nations Qualifying Match

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. –– Alabama’s Nadia Ramadan is set to compete with Egypt as a part of the senior team’s 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) roster for the final round of qualifying matches.

Ramadan and the Egyptian national team will face Ghana in the final qualifying round as the winner of the two-legged matchup will advance to the tournament, which will be held in Morocco beginning March 17.

Egypt and Ghana will compete in the first round of competition on Thursday, Oct. 23 in Suez, Egypt. The second match will be held in Accra, Ghana on Oct. 28.

  • Ranks third for Alabama in points this season with 15 after scoring five goals and notching five assists
  • Recorded the Tide’s tying goal against No. 3 Duke as Alabama was one of just two teams to score against the Blue Devils at the time of the match
  • Captured a brace, which included scoring directly from a corner kick for an Olympico goal, to lead Alabama to a 2-1 victory over LSU
  • Also netted shots against Samford and Kentucky
  • Has played in all 17 matches for Alabama this season, accumulating 1,005 minutes of action
