KEY QUOTES
Head coach Tom Black
On the fan support during 10K Day…
“Super proud of Dawg Nation breaking the record that they set last year. I think it sets a tone for what volleyball can be in this state and at this university. It was an awesome environment.”

On what he saw from the team going into set four…
“A lot of grit. The volleyball was up and down. It wasn’t super consistent. We lost our composure a little bit in set three. It’s hard to come back from that, so I thought the girls had a lot of resilience and we got back into it a little bit more of a rhythm. They found a way.”

#10 Senior Estelle Haugen
On the energy of the crowd in Stegeman for 10K Day…
“We’re so grateful for everyone who was here. We asked everyone to show up, and they did exactly that. We felt the crowd push us to that five-set match. Five-set matches are always a lot. They take a lot out of you physically and mentally, but I think the crowd did a great job. The band was amazing. Just carrying us through that match.”

#11 Redshirt-junior Kendal Kemp
On taking the fourth and fifth set…
“We looked at each other; we were honest with each other. We said, ‘We need to step it up right now.’ We were going to go back to the basics, focus on eye contact. That really helped us stay in the rally and feel confident.”
