Five Gators Travel to North Florida for Bedford Cup
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Gators are making the trip up north to play in the Bedford Cup hosted by the University of North Florida. The tournament is made up of schools in the state of Florida looking to give their teams more experience for the rest of the fall season.
The Gators women’s tennis program is sending five of the girls to play in the singles portion of the tournament and as three sets of doubles partners.
Nikola Daubnerova and Xinyi Nong are reunited as doubles partners after competing together in the ITA All-American Championships in Cary, N.C. in the qualifier round. Gabia Paskauskas and Lucie Pawlak will play their first tournament together as doubles partners. Finally, Valery Gynina will play in the singles portion of the tournament
The doubles portion of the tournament will begin today at 5:30 p.m. EST with two rounds taking place if weather permits. The singles portion of the tournament will begin on Friday, Oct. 3 at 8 a.m. EST.
Each day the tournament results will be updated on the ITA website.
