Georgia in 15th After Two Rounds of the Ben Hogan Collegiate Invitational

FORT WORTH, Texas — The Georgia men’s golf team fell behind early in the first round but remain at the bottom of the leaderboard after the second round of the Ben Hogan Collegiate Invitational presented by Charles Schwab on Monday at the Colonial Golf Course.    
 
FAST FACTS:

  • The Bulldogs got off to a slow start in round one, shooting a collective 17-over 297, before tightening the gap in the second round, carding a +6 over 286.  
  • Sophomore James Earle led the charge in both rounds, starting with a 3-over 73 and following that up with a 1-under 69 in the second.  Earle sits at T19 on the leaderboard.
  • Junior Grayson Wood and freshman JD Culbreth both shot 5-over 75 in round one. Wood then shot 2-over in round two, while Culbreth carded 4-over.  
  • Senior Carter Loflin started the day shooting 7-over and answered with a 1-over 71 in the second round.  
  • Freshman Will Guthrie made his lineup debut at 4-over 74 in the first round, before carding an 8-over 78 to finish the day.  

  • Virginia sits atop the leaderboard at 1-under after two rounds.  Texas Tech is in second at 2-over, followed by North Carolina at 3-over.  Georgia Tech (+7) is in fourth while Texas and Vanderbilt are tied in fifth at 8-over.  Alabama (+9), Auburn (+11), Oklahoma (+11), and Stanford (+13) round out the top 10.  Still ahead of the Bulldogs (+23) is TCU (+13), Pepperdine (+14), Texas A&M (+21), and Arizona State (+22).
