No. 11 Alabama in Seventh after 36 Holes Played at Ben Hogan Collegiate Invitational
FORT WORTH, Texas – The No. 11-ranked Alabama men’s golf team is in seventh overall after 36 holes played at the competitive Ben Hogan Collegiate Invitational presented by Charles Schwab. The Crimson Tide, one of seven teams ranked among the nation’s top 11 which are competing in the 15-team field, finished the day at 9-over par 569 (288-281)
Individual Highlights
- William Jennings is leading the way for Alabama, who finished the day in a tie for fourth overall at 2-under par 138 (69-69)
- Jennings will enter the final round just two strokes back of the individual leaders at 4-under par – Ben James of Virginia and Connor Graham of Texas Tech
- Jennings is tied for the lead on par 4 scoring (-2, 3.92)
- Brycen James, playing in his first career tournament at Alabama, is in a tie for 26th at 3-over 143 (73-70)
- Jonathan Griz rebounded from an opening round 77 to shoot the Tide’s best score of the day, finishing the second round at 2-under 68 and is in a tie for 40th at 5-over par (145)
- Luke Powell is in a tie for 59th with a 148 (74-74) while Connor Brown ended the day a tie for 70th with a 151 (72-79)
Team Highlights
- No. 8 Virginia (-1) leads the field by three strokes over No. 19 Texas Tech (+2)
- No. 14 North Carolina (+4) is in third with No. 18 Georgia Tech (+7) and No. 5 Texas (+7) round out the top five teams
