Men’s Cross Country Wins FSU Invite, Women Place Third

Tallahassee, Fla. — Georgia men’s cross country add another first-place finish onto the season’s accomplishments thus far, while the women’s team secured a top-three finish early Friday morning at the FSU Invite.

Fast Facts
•  The Georgia men secured their second first-place finish on the season with 21 points, besting runner-up North Florida by 70 points in the 8K race.
• The men’s squad of six all finished within the top eight.
• Junior Ryan Olree led the way for the Bulldog men, crossing the line at 24:06.2, while grad transfers Will Aitken (24:12.7) and Oliver Smart (24:20.9) followed closely behind in third and fourth place. Freshman Kristers Kudlis (24:40.5) and junior Conner Rutherford (24:45.3) rounded out the scoring in sixth and seventh place.
• The Lady Bulldogs finished in third place in the 6K with 87 points, only 37 points behind No. 29 Florida State’s 87 points. 
• Freshman Anastasia Nilsson was the first Lady Bulldog to cross the finish line, claiming seventh place at 20:46.5. Sophomore Izzy Yonas followed in eighth with a personal-best of 20:49.6.
• Other Georgia women scorers in the 6K were Madeleine Holland in 19th (21:59.2, collegiate debut), Addison Scott in 26th (22:06.6) and Lauren Skeens in 27th (22:07.8).

The Bulldogs return to action next month, with a trip to Missouri for the Pre-National Invitational on Sat., October 18.
