The Crimson Tide Holds First Official Practice to Kick Off the 2025-26 Season
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The Alabama women’s basketball team held its first official practice of the 2025-26 campaign inside Coleman Coliseum Monday afternoon. The Crimson Tide returns eight players from the 2024-25 season, including starters Karly Weathers and Essence Cody, and welcome in seven newcomers to this year’s squad.
About Alabama
- Leah Brooks, Essence Cody, Diana Collins, Reychel Douglas, Naomi Jones, Eris Lester, Jessica Timmons and Karly Weathers all return from last season’s roster
- Over the offseason, Alabama welcomed three transfers in Waiata Jennings, Ta’Mia Scott and Alancia Ramsey
- Four freshmen, Ace Austin, Tianna Chambers, Lourdes Da Silva Costa and Joy Egbuna, also join the Tide’s squad
- Head Coach Kristy Curry will begin her 13th season at the helm for Alabama on Nov. 3 versus Stetson in Tuscaloosa, Ala.
- UA will feature 14 non-conference games and 16 Southeastern Conference games
- The Tide’s non-conference schedule is highlighted by the Baha Mar Pink Flamingo Championships in Nassau, Bahamas (Nov. 24 and Nov. 26) and the ACC/SEC challenge versus Clemson (Dec. 4)
- Alabama will open SEC play on the road against South Carolina (Jan. 1)
