ATHENS, Ga. – Following a career-best performance at Ole Miss, University of Georgia freshman forward Hailey Gordon was named Southeastern Conference Co-Freshman of the Week, as announced by the league office Monday afternoon. Gordon shared the honor with Mississippi State midfielder Laila Murillo.

Gordon helped No. 21 Georgia reach a 3-0 start in SEC play for the first time since 2007 with two goals in a 4-1 win at Ole Miss. The Las Vegas native scored her first career goal in the 39th minute as she took a pass from teammate Virginia Odom and turned around for the score. Later, in the 77th minute, she closed out the scoring for the Bulldogs as she streaked up field to put away a cross from Cate Hardin.

In her first season, Gordon is tied for third on the team with six points (two goals, two assists), while appearing in 10 matches with one start at Clemson.

Gordon and the rest of the Bulldogs will play host to Florida on Friday, Sept. 26 at 6:30 p.m. at the Turner Soccer Complex. Admission is free for all spectators, and the match will stream on SEC Network+. Fans are encouraged to wear red and the first 500 will receive a replica red Georgia soccer jersey at halftime.
