Women’s Golf Sits Atop the Leaderboard on Day One of the Lady Paladin Invitational
GREENVILLE, S.C. – The Alabama women’s golf team wrapped up its first round of the season, sitting in first place at 6-under par 282 at the Lady Paladin Invitational. Ryan Flynn led the way for the Crimson Tide, ending the day tied for first-place on the player leaderboard at 5-under par 67.
Joining Flynn in the top-10 on the player leaderboard was Harriet Lockley, in sixth place, after carding a 3-under par 69. As a team, the Tide posted the lowest average score (4.00) on Par 4 holes and the second-most birdies (16) throughout the field.
THE HIGHLIGHTS
- Ryan Flynn’s 5-under par 67 was a career-best round in her two seasons at UA and her first-ever round in the 60s
- Posting her third career round in the 60s and her 10th round of recording par or lower, Harriet Lockley posted four birdies in the opening round
- In her first tournament competing for the Tide, Natachanok Tunwannarux sits in 16th place at even-par 72
- Mattison Frick posted four birdies, including three on the back-9, finishing the day in 36th place at 2-over par 74
- Rounding out UA’s lineup in 57th place was Julia Sánchez Morales at 5-over par 77
- Competing as individuals, Grace Crawford sits in 44th overall at 3-over par 75 while Amanda Gyllner carded a 7-over par 79, finishing the day 73rd overall
TEAM RESULTS
- The Tide leads the tournament field by three strokes with High Point sitting in second at 3-under par
- Alabama’s Flynn is tied with Florida Gulf Coast’s Jordan Fischer at 5-under par on the player leaderboard
