TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The National Football League concluded Week 2 of the regular season Monday evening. Below is a look at how former Alabama players performed on the gridiron last week.

Quarterback Mac Jones shined in his debut with the San Francisco 49ers, making his first start since Week 10 of last season. Jones completed 26-of-39 passes for 279 yards and three touchdowns in a 26-21 victory over the New Orleans Saints on Sunday afternoon.

In the backfield, Jahmyr Gibbs tallied 94 rushing yards on 12 carries and found the end zone for the first time this season. Gibbs also hauled in three receptions for 10 yards, helping lead the Detroit Lions to a 52-21 win over the Chicago Bears. Josh Jacobs had a solid showing in prime time on Thursday night, as the veteran back took 23 carries for 84 yards and one rushing score to extend his touchdown streak to 10 games.

Fresh off signing a three-year, $83 million extension with the Lions, wide receiver Jameson Williams totaled 108 yards and one touchdown across his two receptions, marking the fourth 100-yard game of his career and the 127th game in NFL history where a receiver surpassed 100 yards on just two catches. Also succeeding through the air was Miami Dolphins’ wideout Jaylen Waddle, who had five receptions for 68 yards to go with a score.

On the defensive side, Lions safety Brian Branch filled up the stat sheet, tallying six tackles, including a sack and two tackles for loss, to go with a forced fumble and one pass breakup. Dallas Turner had one of the best games of his young career, as the second-year linebacker for the Minnesota Vikings registered a career-high five tackles, including one sack, in addition to a quarterback hurry.

Pat Surtain II was in midseason form for the Denver Broncos as the NFL’s reigning Defensive Player of the Year recorded a career-high 11 tackles, marking the first double-digit tackle performance of his career. Mack Wilson Sr. also came up big for the Cardinals as the veteran linebacker had eight tackles in Arizona’s 27-22 victory over the Carolina Panthers on Sunday afternoon.
