Bulldogs Set to Compete at Kitty Harrison Invitational
The tournament is held in honor of Kitty Harrison, who was the former North Carolina women’s tennis coach from 1977 to 1998, leading the Tar Heels to four ACC Championships.
The Bulldogs will face athletes from five different NCAA Division I programs: Old Dominion, Duke , Charlotte, North Carolina and Virginia. The Bulldogs open play Friday at noon, with a 1 p.m. start Saturday and a 10 a.m. start Sunday. Admission is free all weekend.

- Five Bulldogs checked into the ITA singles preseason rankings including Anastasiia Lopata (No. 9), Aysegul Mert (No. 28), Anastasiia Gureva (No. 92), Sofia Rojas (No. 100), and Patricija Paukstyte (No. 110).
- In doubles rankings, Gureva and Paukstyte lead the Dawgs at No.4, Lopata and Rojas check in at No. 34 and Mert paired with freshman Deniz Dilek are ranked No. 75.
- Friday will mark the start of year three for head coach Drake Bernstein, who coached the Bulldogs to a 29-3 overall record, winning the 2025 NCAA Championship (third in program history), the 2025 ITA National Team Indoor title (fifth in program history) and a third-consecutive SEC Tournament title (11th in program history).
