Soccer Downs Samford in 3-1 Road Win
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. –– For the second consecutive game, the Alabama soccer team (4-0-0) captured a trio of goals as the Crimson Tide defeated Samford (0-2-1) with a 3-1 win on the road.
UA was paced in the match by Gianna Paul (22:37), Nadia Ramadan (35:52) and Breezie Brewer (77:52), who all found the back of the net.
From Head Coach Wes Hart
“This was the game on our schedule I was least looking forward to. I knew it was going to be a tough one. A hot Sunday afternoon on the road against a team that always plays us tough.
“I was very pleased with the first 20-25 minutes. I thought we played some of our best soccer. Nearly had two goals in the first 10 minutes. We did well to score and go up a goal, but the pk we conceded gave them life and rattled us a bit. It was a dog fight for the last 60 minutes, but we showed a lot grit, grinding that one out. We will take the win and move on. Can’t wait to for Friday night when we host Mercer.”
