GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Former Florida head football coach Urban Meyer will have his National Football Foundation (NFF) On-Campus Salute at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium when the Gators host Tennessee on Nov. 22.

The NFF Hall of Fame On-Campus Salutes, which began with the inaugural NFF College Football Hall of Fame Class in 1951, have become a hallowed tradition, serving as the first of numerous activities in each electee’s Hall of Fame experience.

During the NFF Hall of Fame On-Campus Salutes, each member of the 2025 NFF College Football Hall of Fame Class will return to his respective school to accept a Hall of Fame plaque that will stay on permanent display at the institution. The events take place on the field during a home game, and many Hall of Famers cite the experience as the ultimate capstone to their careers, providing them one more chance to take the field and be recognized in front of their home crowd.

The 2025 NFF College Football Hall of Fame Class will be officially inducted during the National Football Foundation’s 67th Annual Awards Dinner Presented by Las Vegas on Tuesday, Dec. 9 at the Bellagio Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas.

Meyer is the 14th overall Gator and fifth Florida coach to enter the College Football Hall of Fame.

Meyer was the head coach for the Gators from 2005-10, posting an overall record of 65-15 and a SEC mark of 36-12. In six seasons, Meyer guided the Gators to a pair of national championships (2006 and 2008), two Southeastern Conference Championships, three SEC Eastern Division crowns and six-straight January bowl games, including three BCS bowl games.

He was named the All-American Football Foundation Coach of the Year in 2008 and his overall winning percentage of .813 ranks second all-time in program history. Also during his time in Gainesville, Gators earned 57 All-America honors and 113 All-SEC accolades. Tim Tebow also won the Heisman Trophy under Meyer in 2007.

Meyer became the first coach in the history of the Football Bowl Subdivision to post consecutive 13-win seasons (2008 and 2009). He guided the 2008 and 2009 team to a school-record 22 game winning streak, the fourth-longest in the history of the SEC and the longest in the league in 15 years. Between Oct. 4, 2008 and Oct. 2, 2010, his teams won 16-straight SEC games, the second-longest in school history.

Meyer was 11-4 (.733) against top-10 teams at UF and his Gator teams were ranked at one point in 89-consecutive polls, including 67 weeks in the top 10 and 16 weeks at No. 1. At the Swamp under Meyer, the Gators posted a record of 36-5 (.878). Against rivals Georgia, LSU and Florida State, the Gators earned a mark of 13-5 in six seasons under Meyer.

Single-game tickets are still available for all six home games in the 2025 season but are going fast. Fans can purchase tickets at FloridaGators.com, by calling the Gator Ticket Office at (352) 375-4683, or in person at Gate 2 on the west side of Ben Hill Griffin Stadium.
