Five Gators Listed in the 2026 Senior Bowl Top 300 List
GAINESVILLE, Fla. — Five Gators were named to the 2026 Senior Bowl Top 300 List. Seniors J. Michael Sturdivant, Austin Barber, Jake Slaughter, Caleb Banks and Tyreak Sapp were all named ot the list.
The 2026 Senior Bowl is sponsored by Panini America and is considered to be a college football all-star game and the first stage in the NFL Draft process with players showcasing their skills to NFL scouts one last time before the draft process begins. To make the list more exclusive the number of athletes named was narrowed down from a group of 850 to 300 with only draft eligible players being selected.
Sturdivant comes to Florida for his fifth year after spending two seasons at California and his last two seasons at UCLA. Looking to add even more depth to a stellar wide receiver room, making it hard for teams to cover anyone in that position group. Across the last four years, Sturdivant has totaled 123 receptions for 13 touchdowns and 1667 receiving yards.
Barber, Slaughter, Banks and Sapp all decided to return for a fifth season with the Gators, making them four of seven players on the roster to do so.
On the offense side, Barber helped hold the offensive line by logging 729 snaps and having a run block grade of 70.0 according to Pro Football Focus. Whie Slaughter led the team in offensive snaps with 800 for the 2024 season, recorded a pass block grade of 83.9, was ranked fifth nationally among centers with an offense grade of 81.1 and had a run block grade of 79.0 which ranked seventh in the country according to PFF. Slaughter also led the Gators in all of these categories.
Banks and Sapp both serve on the defense with Banks helping to hold down the defensive line and Sapp operating in the edge position. In 2024, Banks registered 21 tackles, 10 of which were solo tackles, along with seven tackles-for-loss, 4.5 sacks, two forced fumbles and a recovered fumble across ten starts. Sapp led the team with seven sacks and 13 tackles-for-loss for 48 yards and tied Banks for the team lead of two forced fumbles. Sapp’s PFF grade of 90.4 is the highest among all qualified Florida players, is the eighth highest among all FBS edge rushers and fifth highest among all SEC edge rushers.
