Lorenz & Wallace Secure Gold with Team USA at 2025 World Games

Wallace led Team USA in home runs (3) and RBI (8) in her Women’s National Team debut.

CHENGDU, China – Florida softball standouts Amanda Lorenz and Skylar Wallace helped lead Team USA to a fourth-straight World Games title on Sunday in Chengdu, China.

The United States went 5-0 over the five-day competition, defeating Chinese Taipei, the Netherlands and China in pool play, before earning a 10-inning 7-6 victory over Japan in the semifinals and a 5-0 win over Chinese Taipei in the gold medal game.

Team USA outscored opponents 32-6 and posted a .344 team batting average.

In her Women’s National Team debut, Wallace led the Eagles in home runs (3) and RBI (8).

Wallace hit a grand slam vs. China, a game-tying fifth-inning two-run home run in the semifinals vs. Japan and a solo home run in the championship game vs. China Taipei.

 

Lorenz, who alternated between right field and designated player for USA, went 2-for-2 with a walk in the gold medal game.
 

She has now won two World Cup titles with Team USA, as she was part of the 2022 World Games team that won gold in Birmingham, Ala.
