Woad Named ACC Scholar Athlete of the Year; Five Named To All-ACC Academic Women’s Golf Team

Last Updated: July 8, 2025By

TALLAHASSEE – Junior Lottie Woad was named as the ACC Women’s Golf Scholar Athlete of the Year, and each of the five members of Florida State’s championship lineup of Sophia Fullbrook, Alexandra Gazzoli, Mirabel Ting, Kaylah Williams, and Woad – who led the Seminoles to the first ACC Championship in school history – have been named to the All-ACC Academic Women’s Golf Team.

Woad is the second Seminole to be named as the ACC Women’s Golf Scholar Athlete of the Year. Amelia Williamson earned the honor in 2022.

The Seminoles earned a 3.785 team grade point average in the classroom and a school-record seven team championships including the ACC and NCAA Lexington Regional Championships during the 2025 spring semester. The Seminoles finished in third place in the final team standings of the NCAA Division I Championship Finals.

The selections of Fullbrook, Gazzoli, Ting, Williams, and Woad mark the 11th consecutive season that multiple Seminoles have been named to the All-ACC Academic Women’s Golf Team. The Seminoles’ five selections to the All-ACC Academic Women’s Golf team marks the third time in school history that at least five Florida State golfers have been named to the team (2015, 2017, and 2025). The school record of six players were named to the All-ACC Academic Women’s Golf Team in 2015.

“For each of the members of our lineup to be selected to the All-ACC Women’s Golf Team is truly awesome,” said head coach Amy Bond. “The travel required to be a Division I golfer is incredible, and to perform so well academically during our competitive season is a testament to the culture of our program. I am so proud of all of our players for their academic achievements as three of our girls earned perfect 4.0 GPAs, six of the players were above a 3.6, and each member of our team finished with a GPA above 3.3 during our busy spring travel season.”

Gazzoli, a freshman who sank the putt to win the ACC Championship, earned a perfect 4.0 GPA, while Fullbrook earned a 3.95, Woad a 3.75, Williams a 3.75, and Ting a 3.35 during the spring semester.

Woad has now been named to the All-ACC Academic Team three times during her career, while Williams and Ting have been named to the team twice each.  Gazzoli and Fullbrook are both members of the team for the first time as freshmen.

Woad (First Team by the WGCA and Golfweek) and Ting (First-Team by the WGCA and Golfweek) both earned All-American and All-ACC honors.  Ting was named as the consensus national golfer of the year and the 2025 ACC Golfer of the Year.

“We are all so proud of everything Lottie has accomplished during her career as a Seminole,” said Bond. “Being named the ACC Scholar Athlete of the Year, in my mind, is the cherry on top of the ice cream. Lottie’s success, both on the course and in the classroom, and how she went about achieving her success, was amazing to watch in these last three years. She has set a standard as a complete student-athlete for many others to follow.”

A total of 36 different Seminoles have been named to the All-ACC Academic Women’s Golf Team a total of 66 times since the award was established in 2006.

To be eligible for the All-ACC Academic Women’s Golf Team, golfers must have a career 3.0 GPA, a 3.0 GPA in the most recent semester, and have played in 50 percent of the teams matches during the year.
