Lonni Alameda to be Inducted into Florida Sports Hall of Fame
Alameda is the 27th member from Florida State to enter the Florida Sports Hall of Fame, and she joins Colleen Walker as the only other FSU female to be inducted into the Florida Sports Hall of Fame.
In 17 seasons at the helm of FSU Softball, Alameda has taken to the Seminoles to new heights. In 17 full seasons, Florida State has never missed the NCAA Tournament and is one of four schools (FSU, Alabama, Oklahoma and UCLA) to have hosted a NCAA Regional in the past 11 seasons. Alameda has led the Seminoles to the Women’s College World Series five times (2014, 2016, 2018, 2021, 2023) which included the Seminoles first Women’s College World Series Championship in 2018. In its last three appearances to Oklahoma City, FSU has reached the Championship Series (2018, 2021, 2023). Alameda has led FSU to nine ACC Tournament Championships and eight ACC Regular Season Championships in her 17 seasons. Alameda has recorded over 800 wins at FSU and has won over 78% of her games in Tallahassee.
Alameda has elevated herself to one of the top pitching minds in the sport. She has helped seven pitchers be named ACC Pitcher of the Year and has helped the Noles finish top 20 nationally in ERA 13 times. Alameda has helped 15 Seminoles earn 21 All-America honors in her 17 seasons. Alameda has won seven ACC Coach of the Year honors and her staff was named the NFCA Coaching Staff of the Year in 2018.
