Weaver Earns All-America Honorable Mention
TALLAHASSEE– Florida State sophomore Tyler Weaver was named 2025 Division I PING All-America honorable mention on Monday by the Golf Coaches Association of America.
Weaver was among the 27 golfers recognized as honorable mention, while Luke Clanton was previous named to the 2025 NCAA Division I PING All-American First Team. Clanton was among 10 golfers recognized, earning his third career All-America recognition.
The Newmarket, England native finished his sophomore season with six top 10 finishes, including a victory at the 2025 Cabo Collegiate. He averaged a 71.31 stroke average, while shooting a round low of 66, also at the Cabo Collegiate.
Weaver was the runner-up at the 2025 ACC Championship in Bowling Green, Kentucky. He also finished the season 2-1 in match play.
Weaver added two points for Team International at the 2025 Arnold Palmer Cup that ran from June 5-7 at the Congraee Golf Club. Teaming up with fellow FSU women’s All-American Lottie Woad, the duo added a point after winning the 18th hole in to defeat Anna Davis and Carson Bacha of the USA, 1Up.
Weaver added another point on Saturday after defeating Jackon Koivun 1Up. Weaver fell behind by two points after the eighth hole and tied the match back up on the 15th. Koivun knotted the match at the 16th, but Weaver made birdie on the 17th to retake the lead.
Team International won the Arnold Palmer Cup 35-25.
Weaver, who is the 28th-ranked amateur in the world will compete at the 125th U.S. Open at Oakmont Country Club in Pittsburgh, running from June 12-15. FSU alums Brooks Koepka and Daniel Berger will also be in the field.
Since 1957, Florida State has collected 59 All-America honors from the Golf Coaches Association of America, including two from Clanton in 2024 and 2025. Clanton joins John Pak as the only two-time First Team honorees in program history. He was also honorable mention in 2023.
