We are thrilled that head baseball coach Rob Vaughn has signed a contract extension, which will now be brought forth for approval by the Board of Trustees. Rob has done a wonderful job leading our team on and off the field in his first two seasons, and we look forward to him continuing to elevate our program in years to come.
Track and Field Readies for NCAA Outdoor Championships
Hard to believe we are down to our final event of the 2024-25 athletics season, which is one I always look forward to attending. Twenty individuals from our track and field teams will head west in a few days to compete in this year’s NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships, scheduled to take place June 11-14 at Hayward Field in Eugene, Ore. We have nine student-athletes representing on the women’s side and 11 for the men’s contingent. The ESPN family of networks will carry the championships with Wednesday and Thursday coverage beginning at 6 p.m. CT on ESPN, Friday’s at 7:30 p.m. CT on ESPN2 and Saturday’s finale at 5 p.m. CT on ESPNU.
Roan Jones Earns Academic All-America Honors
Congratulations to men’s tennis’ Roan Jones, who became the first student-athlete in program history to earn second team Academic All-America honors. He joins Zach Foster (2024 – third team) and Saketh Myneni (2010 – third team) as the Tide’s men’s tennis Academic All-Americans.
Audrey Vandagriff Recognized Nationally
What an incredible first year Audrey Vandagriff had on our softball team. She was recently honored at the National Fastpitch Coaches Association as a second team All-American and was also one of three finalists for the NFCA Freshman of the Year award after stealing 50 bases while leading the team with a .392 batting average, 69 hits and 51 runs scored.
Crimson Tide Scholarship Fund
The end of the fiscal year is right around the corner on Monday, June 30. If you have not yet made a philanthropic contribution to Alabama Athletics this year, please consider donating to the Crimson Tide Scholarship Fund (CTSF). The CTSF is the annual scholarship fund for Alabama Athletics, providing scholarship support for the Crimson Tide’s 600+ student-athletes. Donors to the CTSF earn three (3) Tide Totals priority points per $100 donated. To learn more or to donate, visit crimsontidefoundation.org/ctsf.
University Spotlight
When we started reintroducing the Vault A logo on uniforms and apparel, it spread like wildfire. Now, Alabama residents can add this fan-favorite to their vehicles as it is part of the new collegiate license plate design. The license plate program helps provide scholarships to Alabama resident students, and in 2024-25, more than 120,000 tags were sold.
