Following a 3-0 weekend at the Tallahassee Regional, Florida State is 41-14 overall, 27-7 at home, 12-6 on the road and 2-1 at a neutral site. The team boasts a 4-1 postseason mark in 2025. FSU went 17-10 in the ACC and finished in second place with a .630 winning percentage. The ACC runner-up finish and No. 2 seed at the conference tournament were the team’s best since 2014. The Seminoles were one of three ACC teams to win at least 66% of their league series and every non-conference series, with six of nine league series won and four sweeps in non-conference weekend action.

Florida State is one of five ACC teams to advance to the Super Regional, the most of any conference. A total of nine teams earned a berth in the 64-team field.

As third-year head coach Link Jarrett guides his team to a second consecutive Super Regional, he does so once again in a matchup between coaches leading their alma maters. Jarrett faces OSU alumnus Mitch Canham a year after he played alum-led UConn in the 2024 Super Regional. Florida State and Oregon State are two of five Super Regional teams coached by alumni of their schools, along with Arkansas, Coastal Carolina and Miami, though the Seminoles and Beavers are the only two teams that are facing each other this round. In 2024, Jarrett was the only alum to make it to the College World Series with their club.

Starting pitchers for this weekend’s Super Regional have not been announced by either team.

FLORIDA STATE’S NCAA CHAMPIONSHIP HISTORY
Florida State is in the postseason for the 61st time in program history and advanced to the Super Regional for the 19th team. With last weekend’s Regional sweep, the Seminoles are 210-134 all-time in NCAA play, including 158-63 in the Regional round, 20-23 in Super Regionals and 32-48 in the College World Series. The team’s first NCAA berth came in 1956, the program’s eighth year, and its most recent was last season, which culminated in a national semifinal appearance.

The Seminoles are second all-time in the NCAA in postseason appearances, with 61, and wins, with 210, behind only Texas (259 wins, 64 appearances). FSU is third in College World Series berths, with 24. No one has played in more Super Regionals than the Florida State’s now-19.

Florida State travels to the west coast for a postseason game for the second time, along with a visit to Stanford for the 1996 NCAA Regional, where FSU went 4-0 to advance to the College World Series. Besides the team’s 24 trips to the CWS in Omaha, Nebraska, this will be the Seminoles’ fourth postseason event west of the Mississippi River, with the 1982 Regional in Austin, Texas, and the 2004 Super Regional in Fayetteville, Arkansas, joining the 1996 Regional at Stanford.

Last season, a memorable College World Series run included a two-game Super Regional sweep of UConn. The Seminoles won the opener 24-4 before a 10-8 victory in 12 innings to seal their return to Omaha. Alex Lodise had three hits, an RBI and three runs scored while Max Williams notched two RBI, three runs and one hit in the opener that saw FSU lead 8-0 after three innings and add six runs in the sixth and nine in the seventh. The next day, Williams scored the game-winning run on a home run in the 12th inning, and he and Jaxson West homered in the contest. Williams had three hits, an RBI and two runs scored and West posted two hits, an RBI and a run in the victory.

LAST TIME OUT: REGIONAL SWEEP
The Seminoles went 3-0 to win the Tallahassee Regional from May 30-June 1 at Dick Howser Stadium, the team’s second Regional sweep in as many years. FSU held opponents to just seven runs in the three games, with no runs allowed by four relievers in a combined 9.0 innings. Florida State has won six consecutive NCAA Regional games, all at home, and eight postseason games in a row in Tallahassee. The team was hosting its 37th NCAA Regional.

Junior left-handed starter Jamie Arnold, junior second baseman Drew Faurot, sophomore third baseman Cal Fisher, sophomore left-handed starter Wes Mendes and freshman first baseman Myles Bailey were named to the All-Regional Team. Arnold was recognized as the regional’s Most Outstanding Player for the second consecutive year.

In a 6-2 win over fourth-seeded Bethune-Cookman on May 30, FSU broke a 2-2 tie with three runs in the third inning immediately after a 2:19 weather delay. Bailey had two hits and two RBI in his NCAA debut and was one of three players with a homer. Florida State turned three double plays, all on lineouts to double off a runner on the basepaths.

The Seminoles advanced to the Regional Final thanks to a 10-3 win over third-seeded Mississippi State on May 31. Bailey hit his first career grand slam, his fifth consecutive game with a home run, and Faurot homered twice. Arnold struck out a season-high 13 batters in 7.0 innings to earn the win.

FSU rallied with two runs in the seventh and three in the eighth to beat Mississippi State 5-2 in a dramatic finale on Sunday to win the Regional. Florida State trailed 2-0 after five innings before Fisher tied it with a home run in the seventh. Williams followed with a go-ahead two-RBI single in the eighth to give the Seminoles their first lead of the day. Mendes had a career day in the win, striking out nine and allowing two runs in a career-best 8.0 innings.

NOLES BY THE NUMBERS
FSU has scored 433 runs on 588 hits with a .311 batting average, 100 home runs, 255 walks and 68 stolen bases. The pitching staff owns a 4.65 ERA with 243 earned runs allowed in 470.2 innings with 401 hits, 569 strikeouts and 243 walks.

Junior infielder Alex Lodise leads the team with a .405 batting average, 92 hits, 67 RBI, 18 doubles, three triples and 167 total bases and is tied for tied for second with 17 home runs. Junior outfielder Max Williams has 18 homers and sophomore outfielder Chase Williams has 18 stolen bases. Junior outfielder Gage Harrelson is second with a .335 average, 75 hits and 15 stolen bases while junior infielder Drew Faurot has 51 RBI.

On the mound, junior lefty Jamie Arnold is 8-2 with a 3.12 ERA with 110 strikeouts in 78.0 innings. Redshirt junior left-hander Joey Volini is 8-5 with a 3.68 ERA, 97 strikeouts and 25 walks in 80.2 innings. Among relievers, redshirt senior righty Joe Charles has a 3.82 ERA in 33.0 innings with 46 strikeouts, a 2-0 record and four saves.

SCOUTING OREGON STATE
Oregon State is 45-13-1 on the season, 21-3 at home, 13-7 on the road and 11-3-1 at a neutral site. The team has won four in a row after dropping their Regional opener, a defeat that came after nearly two weeks off. Since losing all four to in-state rival Oregon from April 25-29, OSU has won 13 of its last 16 games.

The Beavers are playing in their ninth NCAA Super Regional and they join the Seminoles with a second consecutive appearance.

OSU went 4-1 at the Corvallis Regional to advance to the Super Regional. After an opening day loss to No. 4 seed Saint Mary’s, the Beavers staved off elimination four times, beginning with a 7-2 win over No. 2 seed TCU on Saturday. Two wins followed on Sunday, 20-3 over Saint Mary’s and 14-1 against No. 3 seed USC. Oregon State completed the weekend with a 9-0 Monday win vs. USC.

Florida State and Oregon State have never played before, and FSU travels to the state of Oregon and the Pacific Northwest for the first time. The Seminoles own a 2-0 record vs. Oregon thanks to a pair of wins at the 2010 NCAA Regional in Norwich, Connecticut.

UP NEXT: COLLEGE WORLD SERIES
The winner of the Corvallis Super Regional will advance to the College World Series in Omaha, Nebraska. The eight team championship event will be held from June 13-23 at Charles Schwab Field Omaha.
