Grady Brown Park Is Open Again After Monday’s Fire

Walton County – May 20, 2025 – Following the structure fire at Grady Brown Park early Monday morning that significantly damaged the restroom facilities, Walton County is pleased to announce that the park is again open to the public.

Walton County Administrator Stan Sunday praised county staff for their efforts in getting the park up and running again so quickly.

“Our Facilities Maintenance crews, with support from Parks and Recreation and Beach Operations, worked diligently to get the park open again as quickly as possible,” he said. “Thanks to their hard work, we were able to have air-conditioned bathroom facilities open the same day.”

“We also want to thank the Walton County Sheriff’s Office for their help in restoring a camera system at the park to ensure public safety and security. We do ask that all park visitors stay away from the damaged structure and keep children from approaching it for safety reasons,” said Sunday. “In the meantime, the park is open for the public’s enjoyment, and we encourage everyone to visit the park and enjoy all of its amenities.”

Grady Brown Park is located just north of the Choctawhatchee Bay, off U.S. 331 South.
