LEXINGTON, Ky. – On the second day of the Southeastern Conference Outdoor Championships, Alabama track and field’s Doris Lemngole glided through the women’s 3,000-meter steeplechase (9:20.83) and successfully defended her title to become the league’s first back-to-back winner in the event since the 2015-16 seasons.

Joining Lemngole with podium finishes of their own were Katelyn Adel and Mariia Horielova. Adel accumulated a personal-best 5,619-point total in the women’s heptathlon to take second-place overall. With the feat, Adel is now Alabama’s fourth SEC silver medalist in the event. Horielova, meanwhile, needed only her first attempt in the women’s long jump event final (6.37m | 20-10.75) to secure her second-place finish.

Nine additional student-athletes, across five events, contributed to the UA men’s and women’s team totals – Miracle Ailes (women’s high jump | 1.78m | 5-10), Carson Burian (men’s 3,000m steeplechase | 8:56.96), Christopher Crawford (men’s shot put | 19.20m | 63-0), Trevor Gunzell (men’s shot put | 19.21m | 63-0.25), Treneese Hamilton (women’s shot put | 16.81m | 55-2), John Landers (men’s decathlon | 7,233 points), Ezekiel Pitireng (men’s 3,000m steeplechase | 8:45.52), Lilly Walters (women’s 3,000m steeplechase | 10:10.77) and Mye’Joi Williams (women’s shot put | 17.77m | 58-3.75).
