CARLSBAD, Calif. – Florida State juniors Mirabel Ting and Lottie Woad have been named as finalists for the Division I Ping National Player of the Year Award by the Women’s Golf Coaches Association. Ting and Woad are two of the three finalists named by the national governing body for women’s collegiate golf. Both players will lead the Seminoles into the NCAA Division I Championship Finals beginning Friday at the Omni La Costa Resort and Spa.

Ting and Woad were named as finalists along with Kiara Romero of the University of Oregon.

Ting and Woad have consistently led the Seminoles in world rankings, national rankings, stroke average, and individual victories during the 2024-25 fall and spring seasons. Florida State has won a school-record seven team championships including its first ACC Championship at the Sedgefield (N.C) Country Club and its third NCAA regional championship in the last five seasons at the Keane Trace Golf Club in Nicholasville, Ky.

Ting is ranked No. 1 in the NCAA in the Scoreboard by Clippd rankings and No. 2 in the World Amateur Golf Rankings. Woad is ranked No. 1 in the WAGR and No. 3 in the NCAA rankings. Woad has been the world’s No. 1 ranked amateur golfer since July 31, 2024 – a span of 44 consecutive weeks. She won the 2024 McCormack Medal as the golfer with the most weeks ranked at No. 1 in the world.

Ting is Florida State’s leading golfer with five individual victories and a career-best stroke average of 68.96. She has earned individual victories at the Folds of Honor Collegiate, the Schooner Fall Classic, the Collegiate Invitational at the Guadalajara Country Club, the Briar’s Creek Invitational, and the Florida State Match Up. She also finished in a tie for second place at the NCAA Lexington Regional Championship and in a tie for third place in the ACC Championship.

Ting was named as the 2025 ACC Golfer of the Year.

Woad has earned two victories and has earned a stroke average of 69.93. Her victories have come in the Landfall Tradition and the Moon Invitational.  She has not finished outside of the top three in any of her 10 events this year and finished tied for second at the NCAA Lexington Regional Championship. Woad also finished in third place in the Augusta National Women’s Amateur in 2025 after winning the ANWA championship in 2024.

Woad has now been a finalist for the WGCA Ping National Player of the Year in both 2024 and 2025. She was also named as the ACC Golfer of the Year in 2024.

Florida State enters play in the NCAA Division I Championship Finals ranked No. 2 (tied) in the WGCA Poll and No. 4 in the NCAA poll. The Seminoles have played as a top 10 nationally ranked team in each of their events this spring. Their No. 2 national ranking is their highest ranking of the season.

“Mirabel and Lottie have played magnificent golf throughout the year,” said 2025 ACC Coach of the Year Amy Bond. “We are thrilled for both players to be finalists for the most prestigious individual award presented by the WGCA. Both Mirabel and Lottie are excited to play in the NCAA Championships and be playing with their teammates during the final week of the season.”
