Doris Lemngole Named Women’s SEC Outdoor Track and Field Scholar-Athlete of the Year

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Alabama track and field’s Doris Lemngole was named the Southeastern Conference’s 2025 Women’s Outdoor Track and Field Scholar-Athlete of the Year, the league office announced Wednesday.

The nation’s top performer in the women’s 3,000-meter steeplechase is the first UA runner to earn the award for the Crimson Tide. Additionally, the feat marks a successful three-for-three sweep of scholar-athlete honors for Lemngole, having previously claimed the award during both the 2024 cross country season and the 2025 indoor track campaign.

Lemngole and Alabama begin postseason action Thursday in Lexington, Ky., for the SEC Outdoor Track and Field Championships.
