Gators Take Third at NCAA Track and Field Championships to Conclude Indoor Season
Florida’s men finished third overall with 26 team points across the two day competition, marking their twelfth top-three finish at the national meet since 2010. The women also totaled 26 points, placing sixth in the final team standings.
Each of Florida’s 20 competitors earned All-America honors at the championships, highlighted by 15 first team selections and five second team nods.
HIGHLIGHTS
The men’s 400m featured a standout performance from Justin Braun, who raced to a personal best 44.67. The mark ranks No. 4 in the world this year and secured Braun a runner-up finish. His time also moves him to No. 9 on the world all-time indoor list, No. 6 in the NCAA all-time and puts him just shy of the Florida program record.
Jayden Horton-Mims also scored for the Gators in the event, finishing eighth to earn a point and cap his indoor debut season.
Gabrielle Matthews finished as the national runner-up in the women’s 200m, clocking a personal best 22.55 after winning her section. The mark ranks No. 4 in the world this season and shattered the previous Florida program record of 22.61.
Wanya McCoy matched Matthews’ runner-up finish in the men’s 200m, racing to a program best of 20.17 and ranking No. 12 on the NCAA all-time list and No. 3 in the nation this season. The Florida senior won his section of the final and currently holds the Bahamian national record in the event.

With the indoor season complete, the Gators will open their outdoor campaign March 26–27 at the FSU Relays in Tallahassee, Florida.
