Lemngole Finishes as National Runner-Up on Opening Day of NCAA Indoor Championships
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Alabama track and field’s Doris Lemngole finished as the national runner-up in the women’s 5,000m on the opening day of the NCAA Indoor Championships. The program’s ace clocked a 15:03.42, while teammate Caren Kiplagat ran 15:22.24 (ninth) to earn second team All-America honors in her indoor national meet debut.
Women’s long jumper Caelyn Harris recorded a ninth-place finish with a 6.32-meter (20-9) jump on her second attempt.
On the men’s side, Samuel Ogazi ran the second-fastest overall time in the men’s 400-meter prelims (45.00) to advance to Saturday’s event final. Dismus Lokira finished 12th in the men’s 5,000m (13:53.22) to capture second team All-America honors.
