GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The No. 7/6 Florida Lacrosse team (5-2) heads to Kennesaw, Ga. to take on the Owls of Kennesaw State on Saturday at 11 a.m. in Fifth-Third Stadium
 
The Gators enter this game coming off an 19-8 win over Penn, which saw the Gators outscore the Quakers 12-2 in the second half after being down 7-6. Clark Hamilton led all scorers with five goals as Gabby Greene ­(4 G) and Frannie Hahn (3 G/1 A) each had four points. On the defensive end, Theresa Bragg caused five turnovers and corralled two ground balls.
 
Scouting the Owls
Kennesaw State is coming of a 15-9 W at La Salle on Wednesday, which extended their win streak to four games, with their three other wins coming against Wofford, Presbyterian and Delaware State.
During their four-game win streak, the Owls are 15 goals per game, only giving up 7.75 goals per game, and an average margin of victory of 10.25 goals.
 
Offensively, Kennesaw State goes through Lexi Tinker. She leads the Owls in goals (22), assists (7), points (29), and shots (39). Caleigh Shore also helped the Owls’ offense, being second on the team in goals (19), assists (4) and points (23).
 
Kennesaw State’s defense is anchored by defender Lauren Dobbs and goalkeeper Cybella Smith. Dobbs leads the teams in ground balls (18) and caused turnovers (20), which is 11 more than the
next person. Smith has played the most minutes in goal for the Owls and leads the team in saves (33) and save % (.458).
 
The Owls are led by Laura Maness who is in her 10th season with Kennesaw State and her 18th season as a head coach. Maness has career record of 111-171 and a record of 61-89 with Kennesaw State.
 
Firing at Will
Florida shot the ball 39 times (24 on goal) against Penn, which is the fourth time this season that they have shot the ball at least 35 times. The 24 shots on goal is also the fourth time this season that the Gators have registered at least 20 shots on goal in a game.
 
The Gators currently rank 8th in shots on goals per game (25.14), 9th in shots per game (33.14) and 11th in shot percentage (.504) in the nation.
 
Controlling the Circle
After losing the draw control battle by a combined 36-16 through the first two games, the Gators have won the draw control 88-63 in the last five games, and have won the battle in four of the last five games.

Following the 18-9 win over Penn, Florida has stayed in the top 25 of multiple stat rankings, including clearing percentage at 1st (.984), scoring offense at 4th (16.71), shooting percentage at 11th (.504), points per game at 16th (22.43) and draw controls per game at 22nd (14.86).

• The Gators hold an all-time record of 30-1 against teams currently in the Atlantic Sun. They are 1-0 this season with a win over Stetson and went 3-0 in 2025 with wins over Kennesaw State, Jacksonville, and Stetson
• Clark Hamilton became the 27th member of the 100-point club with her second point against Penn. Following her five-goal performance against Penn, Hamilton is 18 goals away from becoming the 20th Florida Lacrosse player to score 100 career goals.
• Florida has held opponents to five or fewer second half goals in all but one of their seven games this season, and the two second half goals from Penn are the fewest goals allowed in the second half by the Gators this season.
