Men Punch Two NCAA Tickets; Monroy Qualifies in Both Springboard Events

Last Updated: March 9, 2026By

ATHENS, Ga.  – Florida’s Jesus Agundez Mora and Conor Gesing earned NCAA berths on the men’s 1-meter, while Camyla Monroy officially secured her spot in both women’s springboard events following day two of the 2026 NCAA Zone B Championships.

Gesing, an All-American in the men’s 1-meter, secured his third NCAA Championship berth in the event, while Agundez Mora earned his first NCAA ticket. Meanwhile, Monroy notched her third consecutive season qualifying for the NCAA Championships in both springboard events.

Women’s 3-Meter

Monroy represented Florida in the finals after placing sixth in prelims with a score of 331.45. In the finals, she improved to a fourth-place finish with a combined score of 672.35, highlighted by a 68.20 on her third dive, a forward 3 ½ somersault pike. She closed out the event with a 67.50 on her final dive, a forward 2 ½ somersault 1 twist pike, to total 379.45 points in the finals and qualify for NCAA Championships on both springboard events.

After securing her NCAA Championships berth on the 1-meter yesterday, freshman Alexa Fung finished 21st on the 3-meter with a score of 267.90. Her list was highlighted by a 54.60 on her fourth dive, a back 2 ½ somersault tuck, along with a 49.20 on her forward 2 ½ somersault pike. She will compete on platform tomorrow for the opportunity to qualify for a second event.

Men’s 1-Meter

The opening day of men’s competition featured high scoring and strong dives, with Jesus Gonzalez joining Agundez Mora and Gesing among the top 18 finalists. Agundez Mora remained steady throughout both events, posting high scores on his inward 2 ½ somersault tuck (69.75) and forward 3 ½ somersault tuck (72.00) in the finals to finish fifth overall with a combined score of 749.35. Gesing made a late surge following an impressive 75.20 on his final dive, the forward 2 ½ somersault with 1 twist pike, to move into seventh place (734.00) and secure a top-eight NCAA spot. Gonzalez averaged 60.69 in the prelims and entered finals as the seventh seed. The sophomore continued to post scores of 57.00 or higher through the finals, but on his last dive, the reverse 1 ½ somersault 2 ½ twist free, he scored a 45.00 and dropped to 10th place. His 1-meter NCAA qualifying hopes remain alive, as a top-12 finish keeps him in contention if he qualifies in the 3-meter or platform events.

Hear from Head Diving Coach Bryan Gillooly

“Another great day for us today. Starting with Camyla qualifying on 3-meter. She faced a few challenging moments in her list and stayed mentally tough. Exactly what we want to see in a qualifying meet. Now we focus on Platform tomorrow.”

“A near perfect event for the men on one meter with Agundez staying consistent throughout and Conor making a huge comeback in the final to get automatic spots. We nearly went three-for-three until Jesus Gonzalez missed his hurdle on his last dive. He managed to pull off a great save and stay in the top 12 which keeps him alive if he qualifies on 3-meter and platform, which we expect him to do. The quality of diving at this zone meet has been the best I’ve seen in my 10 years at Florida.”
