Seminoles’ McCray V Earns All-ACC Third Team Honors

Last Updated: March 9, 2026By

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Florida State’s Robert McCray V has earned All-ACC Third-Team honors as selected by the ACC coaches and a blue ribbon panel of media who cover men’s basketball throughout the league. The senior is set to lead the Seminoles in the ACC Tournament against Cal on Wednesday at 7:00 at the Spectrum Center.

McCray V, the only Florida State player to start all 31 games for the Seminoles this season, enters the ACC Tournament ranked 15th in the ACC with a team-leading 15.6 points per game average, 3.8 rebounds per game and a career-high 6.1 assists per game. His 188 total assists are ranked third among all point guards in the ACC. McCray also leads the Seminoles in field goals made (174), free throws made (93), and assists.

Being named All-ACC is a tremendous honor for Rob,” said head coach Luke Loucks. “I consider him to be one of the premier guards in the country. He has been among the national leaders in assists per game all season. The leadership he has provided for our program has been incredible on and off the court.  He has been able to build the trust with each member of the program. He is a big reason we’ve improved as a team throughout the season.”

McCray V earned his fifth career double-double with 12 points and 11 assists in Florida State’s victory over SMU in the Seminoles’ final game of the regular season on March 7. He has earned double-figure assists in a school-record five games this season.

McCray V has also been one of the most dynamic scorers in the ACC this season. He scored in double figures in 17 ACC games and averaged 17.1 points scored per game in conference play. He scored in double figures in 27 of Florida State’s 31 regular season games including 17 of 18 ACC games. He is 16 points shy of scoring in double-figures in every game this season.

McCray V scored in double figures in nine games, including in consecutive games in ACC play in victories over Boston College (27 points) and at Clemson (29 points). He also scored 20 points or more against Duke, at Miami, at SMU, against Virginia, and at Georgia Tech.

McCray V scored 29 points against No. 11 ranked Florida (November 11) and averages 21.2 points scored per game against the six nationally ranked teams the Seminoles have played this season. He scored 29 points against No. 11 Florida, 22 against No. 6 Duke, 20 against No. 14 Virginia, and 20 against No. 24 Clemson.

McCray’s double-figure assist games have come against Alcorn State (17 assists), Texas A&M (11 assists), UMass (11 assists), Jacksonville (10 assists), and SMU (12 assists).

McCray’s single-season career-high assists total (188) is the fifth highest single-season assists total in school history. He needs just 12 assists to become only the fifth player in school history with 200 assists in a single season.

Florida State plays Cal in the ACC Tournament at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday in a game that will be televised on ESPNU.
