Alabama in Sixth Through 36 Holes Played at The Hayt

PONTE VEDRA, Fla. – The No. 15 Alabama men’s golf team is in sixth overall after 36 holes played at The Hayt. The Crimson Tide will enter Monday’s third and final round in sixth overall with a team total of 11-under par 565 (279-286).

Round Two Highlights

  • After carding a 4-under par 68 during Saturday’s opening round, Brycen Jones followed up with a 1-under 71 in round two for a 36-hole total of 5-under par 139
  • Jones, who leads the team with 11 birdies across his two rounds, is in a tie for eighth overall on the individual leaderboard just two shots back of the overall lead
  • Nick Gross, who carded a team-leading 5-under par 67 in round one, followed that up with a 2-over 74 and is in a tie for 19that 3-under 141
  • Jonathan Griz is one shot behind Gross with a 2-under 140 (72-70) and joins Jones as the only two UA golfers with consecutive rounds of par or better
  • Jack Mitchell is in a tie for 56th at 2-over 146 (72-74), with William Jennings rounding out the starting five with a 3-over 147 (76-71) to end the day in a tie for 61st
  • Connor Brown, who is competing as an individual, shot 4-under par 68 during Sunday’s second round and is in a tie for 19thwith a 141 (73-68)
  • No. 21 Charlotte (-18) carded a 10-under par total in round two and vaulted into the top spot on the leaderboard
  • No. 6 LSU (-15) and No. 2 Auburn (-15) are three strokes back of the lead entering round three action
  • No. 11 Texas Tech (-14) and No. 49 South Carolina (-12) round out the top five teams
  • In all, this year’s field features eight teams ranked in the top 50 with eight inside the top 25
