On the performance today and ten home runs…

“We’ve worked really hard. You look at the couple of losses that we’ve had, and I’ve liked our approach to most of those games. We’ve had to make some adjustments with some of these guys because obviously they’re getting pitched differently. When you come from another program, we have such a high home run total, and you’re not going to just keep getting fastballs. We’ve really tightened up our approach. I think what you’re seeing this weekend so far, and we’re going to continue to do it.”

On improvements from his first start to now…

“I’ve started slowing things down out there. I feel like the first start I really let the adrenaline get to me and kind of sped everything up, especially last week. I got a little jumpy on the mound versus this week. We really simplified things and went back to what worked during the fall and winter and just slowed things down. Those things build confidence throughout the game as well.”

On what he saw from Dylan Vigue in the win…

“I’ve seen the exact same person. I think it turned out the way that we wanted for him. He was throwing great pitches, and he’s been doing that week in and week out. Sometimes those pitches get hit, and tonight he just kept making the pitches and executing and they didn’t get pushed. He’s awesome. He’s a little quieter, but he competes and works hard. You can tell how much heart he has and how much he loves it.”
