Alabama’s Weathers, Timmons Earn SEC Women’s Basketball Postseason Awards

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Alabama women’s basketball’s Karly Weathers was named the 2026 Southeastern Conference Scholar-Athlete of the Year while Jessica Timmons earned All-SEC Second Team honors, the league announced Tuesday.

Weathers became the first Alabama player to receive the academic award in the last three seasons and third to do so in the program as she will graduate in the spring with her Bachelor of Science of Nursing degree.

Timmons collected her first All-SEC award after being named to the second team following her final regular season with the Crimson Tide, who finished with a 21-9 overall record and a 7-9 SEC record.

  • Currently boasts a 3.99 grade point average as a nursing major
  • Named to the 2026 SEC Community Service Team
  • Over her last two semesters at Alabama, she will have logged 360-plus clinical hours
  • Two-time College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Basketball Team honoree (2024, 2025)
  • Named to both the Dean’s and President’s Lists five different times and listed as a Dean’s List recipient three times
  • Started in all 30 regular season games for Alabama to lead the team in minutes played (33.8 MPG)
  • Enters the 2026 SEC Tournament averaging 9.5 points, and leads the teams in rebounds (6.1 rpg), assists (3.3 apg) and steals (1.6) per game
  • Collected a career-high 23 points at Missouri (Jan. 12)

  • Alabama’s leading scorer during the regular season, averaging 16.8 points per game entering SEC Tournament play on Wednesday night
  • Collected 25 double-figure games on the year, including 10 games with 20-plus points
  • Recorded a 10-game double-digit scoring streak during SEC play, spanning from Jan. 8 to Feb. 15
  • Scored a career-high 34 points at Florida (Feb. 22), which is tied for eighth-most in a single game in program history
  • Currently holds four individuals top-10 SEC rankings, including No. 3 in both free throw percentage (85 percent) and three-point field goal percentage (43 percent)
  • Also ranks eighth in three-pointers made (66) and 10th in scoring average
  • Named SEC Player of the Week (Jan. 13)
