ATHENS, Ga. – Behind 26 points from guard Dani Carnegie and a double-double of 20 points and 10 boards from forward Mia Woolfolk, the Georgia Lady Bulldog basketball team defeated Florida, 71-58, Sunday inside Stegeman Coliseum.

• Georgia ends the regular season with a 22-8 overall record and 8-8 mark in SEC play. 
• The Lady Bulldogs led for 39 minutes against the Gators, using a 12-0 run after the score was tied at 23-all in the second quarter to pull ahead for good. 
• Carnegie has now scored in double figures in 26 of 30 games and posted 20 points or more an impressive 13 times this season. 
• Carnegie (26) and Woolfolk (20) are the first pair of Lady Bulldogs to score 20 points or more in the same game since Dec. 16, 2021, when Jenna Staiti (21) and Que Morrison (20) did so against NC State.
• Georgia held Florida’s leading scorer Liv McGill to just eight points and five boards. 
• The Lady Bulldogs shot 44 percent from the floor and committed just 12 turnovers. 
• Georgia’s 22 wins are the most for the program since Coach ABE’s first year in 2022-23.

On the upcoming SEC Tournament…
“The SEC Tournament, who wants to do that? I don’t think any coach in our league really wants to go and play each other again. The SEC is very dangerous, at any point anybody can win. We’re just gonna take it one game at a time, worry about who we’re playing in the first game, and then we’ll go from there.”
 
On Dani Carnegie’s high production…
“She was really frustrated after the Texas game, she just couldn’t get herself open. So we just watched a lot of film, and showed her that she needed to change her speed. We put in some new funky plays, some twist plays, for her to get open, and she just really locked in. This year is the first year Dani has been a go-to player. It’s new for her. I told her to take a deep breath, just breathe, you don’t have to be perfect. Me and her talked about doing the little things a bit better, and that not everything is a 3-point shot.”

On defensive focus… 
“We just focus on events, probably almost every day. So, it’s about time to translate it. So I feel like today just goes to show that everything we do in practice does translate over as long as we lock in and focus.”
 
On what they’re most proud of…
“I’m really just most proud of how far we’ve come as a team. I mean, we’ve gone through so much adversity. Even now, we’re playing with two bigs down for real. 
So, like, we’ve just done so much together, and it’s just like, I mean, the elephant in the room, we had a terrible game against Texas, then we come out here and play the game that we know how to play. We just, we’re just such a team that can flip the page, and I just love that about us.”
