Gators Travel To Georgia For Final Game Of Regular Season
The Gators (17-13, 5-10) have won four of their last six games, including a 74-67 victory Thursday over No. 19/20 Ole Miss. Their two losses during that stretch are to No. 10/10 Oklahoma (81-74) and No. 25/24 Alabama (76-71).
Georgia is one of five teams at either 8-7 or 7-8 in conference, all of whom are battling to stay out of the first day of the SEC Tournament when the nine through 16 seeds play. At the moment, the Bulldogs are the 10 seed, and have lost three of their last five games. They began the season unranked, but started receiving votes in national polls in early December before cracking the top 25 in late January.
Georgia holds SEC opponents to 41.2 percent shooting from the field (seventh best in the league), and 30.0 percent from three-point range (fifth best), while grabbing the fifth highest percentage of offensive rebounds (.708). Offensively the Bulldogs make 41.9 percent of their field goal attempts in SEC play (eighth best), and 29.4 percent of their three-pointers (11th), while grabbing 25.4 percent of available offensive rebounds (15th).
Dani Carnegie is Georgia’s leading scorer on the year averaging 17.8 points per game overall and 18.5 in conference. She connects on 36.8 percent of her shots from beyond the arc on the season, but against SEC opponents she is making just 28.4 percent from distance. Mia Woolfolk (13.3 ppg), Rylie Theuerkauf (11.9) and Trinity Turner (11.1) also average double figures in scoring for the Bulldogs.
Florida is 20-65 all-time against the Bulldogs, but has won two of the last three games including a 73-57 victory on January 5 of last year. Ra Shaya Kyle (18 points, 7 of 12 shooting), Liv McGill (15 points, 6 of 12), and Laila Reynolds (13 points, 6 of 11) all scored in double figures for the Gators in last season’s win, and Florida forced Georgia into committing 22 turnovers which they flipped into 27 points.

A FLORIDA WIN WOULD …
- Improve the Gators’ record to 18-13 overall on the year and 6-10 in the SEC.
- Secure the 12 seed for the Gators in the SEC Tournament. Florida’s first round tournament game would tip at approximately 1:30 p.m. EST on Wednesday, March 4 at Bon Secours Wellness Arena in Greenville, S.C.
- Improve Florida’s record to 3-8 on the road this season.
- Improve the Gators’ record to 21-65 all-time vs. Georgia, and be the team’s third win over the Bulldogs in the last four meetings between the teams.
- Be Florida’s second consecutive win against a nationally-ranked opponent—74-67 win over Ole Miss on Feb. 26.
POSTSEASON PICTURE
- The 2026 SEC Women’s Basketball Tournament is being held at Bon Secours Wellness Arena in Greenville, S.C. from March 4-8.
- All 16 teams make the tournament
- The top four seeds have a double bye into the quarterfinals on March 6.
