Last Updated: February 28, 2026By

DENTON, Texas — A balance beam 10.0 for Gator sophomore Skye Blakely was among the No. 4 Florida gymnastics highlights in Friday’s quad win at the Kitty Magee Arena.

Florida turned in its third-highest total of the season, 197.70, to win the meet. Arizona State was second (195.475), followed by Texas Woman’s University (194.525) and Fisk (189.25).

A school-record 49.80 on balance beam was set by the Gators Friday. Florida claimed three apparatus wins – all with collegiate best marks. Skye Blakely’s 10.0 on beam and 9.975 on bars took both wins. Danie Ferris claimed her first floor exercise win at 9.925.

TONIGHT’S MEET
The quad started well for the Gators as the team matched its second-highest uneven bars team total (49.60) of the season. That total included four marks of 9.925 or better – including a collegiate-best 9.975 by Skye Blakely. eMjae Frazier got the lineup started with a season-best 9.925 and that mark was matched by Kayla DiCello. Riley McCusker anchored the lineup with a 9.95.

Florida built on its opening rotation when it moved to balance beam. There, the Gators raised the school record to 49.80, which is the nation’s 2026 high on the event by a tenth. Blakely flowed through her routine flawlessly, turning in the Gators first 10.0 of the season. The lineup was opened with a collegiate best 9.95 from Skylar Draser and anchored with near-perfect 9.975 from Selena Harris-Miranda. DiCello earned her third 9.95 of the season and Alyssa Arana equaled her collegiate best at 9.925.

On floor exercise, Florida used three marks of 9.90 or better toward its total of 49.425. Danie Ferris matched her collegiate-best of 9.925 to lead UF. Gabby Disidore got the Gators started by matching her collegiate-best of 9.90. Frazier also turned in a 9.90 Friday.

The final four Gator vaulters all posted a 9.825 – DiCello, Ferris, Taylor Clark and Harris-Miranda – to lead the team on the event. It was Clark’s collegiate debut on the event.

TWO COLLEGIATE BESTS FOR BLAKELY IN FRONT OF HOMETOWN CROWD:
Sophomore Skye Blakely lingered inside Kitty Magee Arena long after Friday night’s meet had ended, soaking in the moment. Fresh off collegiate-best performances on beam (10.0) and bars (9.975), she made her way through many family and friends who were in the stands to welcome her back home — and celebrate right alongside her.

Blakely grew up in Frisco, Texas, just 37 miles from Denton, making the short trip an easy one for her supporters. Their cheers echoed a little louder — and her smile stretched a little wider — competing so close to home.

And excellence runs in the family. Skye isn’t the first Blakely to post a perfect score for the Gators. Her older sister, Sloane, recorded 10.0s on floor exercise as both a freshman and a senior, adding another chapter to the Blakely legacy. The Kitty Magee Arena was also the site for Sloane’s near-perfect 9.975 vault when the Gators last visited on March 12, 2023.

On tonight’s meet:

“It was a good night for the Gators. Our goal tonight was to be excellent, not be perfection, but to be excellent. This team had three events of excellence, I would say. Just fell a little short our fourth event tonight.

“So many good things, so many opportunities for new players to come in and show what they’ve been working on and show that they’re ready to raise their hand and compete. So couldn’t be more proud of those young women competing tonight. It was a lot of fun. We had a lot of Gator fans show up and support this team. It was really great.” – Florida Head Coach Jenny Rowland

On Florida’s school-record beam performance:

“The beam lineup tonight was fire. Really great job. They look super calm, confident, collected and really just performed what they do in practice on a daily basis.” – Florida Head Coach Jenny Rowland

On Skye Blakely’s 10.0 on beam:

Skye getting her first 10.0 in her home state – how cool is that? Really, really excited for her, really proud of her. She’s been working really hard on just the little details and to see it all come together was just very rewarding.” – Florida Head Coach Jenny Rowland

On her beam 10.0:

“I had a whole bunch of fun. It was really nice to be in front of a lot of my family and a home crowd.

“Just seeing the score – I was just so shocked, so excited. That’s my dream to get a 10 in college. To do it here and have all the girls just be supporting and happy for me – it’s such a great feeling. I had a lot of fun.

On her near-perfect 9.975 on bars:
