Women’s Tennis to Host Saturday Doubleheader
The Seminoles are unbeaten all-time against both opponents, holding a 9-0 record versus Georgia State and 3-0 against Alabama State. Last season, FSU swept both teams 4-0, including a season-opening win over Alabama State and a home victory against Georgia State at the Speicher Tennis Center.
Florida State is looking to continue its three-match streak of clinching the doubles point. In doubles, Tina Li and Eva Shaw have held down Court 1 together. The pair is 2-0, most recently earning a victory against No. 36-ranked Notre Dame to clinch the doubles point for FSU. On Court 2, Mary Boyce Deatherage and Cade Cricchio have also won two consecutive matches and look to continue to build on that momentum this weekend.
Shaw will also be coming off the biggest singles win of her season, earning a straight-sets victory over No. 46 Bianca Molnar of Notre Dame on Court 1.
Fans attending Saturday’s match against Georgia State can enjoy complimentary barbecue while supplies last. Admission to all FSU home tennis matches is free.
