A Look at What’s Ahead
The GymDogs host No. 7 Missouri on Friday, March 6 in the home finale. Georgia will honor its seniors following the meet against the Tigers. Georgia is immediately back in action on Sunday, March 8 in Huntsville, Alabama at Elevate the Stage, taking on No. 14 Clemson, No. 15 Auburn, and Pitt.
Recapping the Last Meet
Georgia scored a 197.325 in front of a crowd of 10,069 at Stegeman Coliseum Friday evening, falling to the fourth-ranked Florida Gators (197.575). Csenge Bácskay and Ja’ Free Scott each tallied career-high scores on vault to open the meet. Bácskay’s season vault debut resulted in a career-best 9.925 and the event crown, while Scott tallied a 9.900. The Bulldogs tied a season-best 49.475 on bars. Autumn Reingold was Georgia’s top scorer on the event with a 9.925, finishing second. Georgia opened the rotation with three-straight scores of 9.900 from Bácskay, Holly Snyder (season high), and Kelise Woolford (tied season high). Lily Smith and Nyla Aquino captured the floor event title, each scoring a 9.925. That score tied a season high for Aquino. It was Smith’s eighth-straight floor title this season.
GymDogs in the Rankings
The GymDogs stayed at No. 6 for the fourth week in a row in the Week 8 Road to Nationals rankings with a 197.296 team National Qualifying Score (NQS).Georgia ranks second on floor (49.483 NQS), sixth on vault (49.304 NQS), fifth on bars (49.358 NQS), and 12th on beam (49.229 NQS). Individually, two GymDogs appear in the top 10: Lily Smith (2nd, floor; sixth bars) and CaMarah Williams (7th, floor).
Setting the Standard
Georgia has recorded a team score of 197.000 or higher in seven of eight meets this season, with a season-high 197.675 (Georgia Quad Meet, Jan. 30). The most regular-season 197’s was set twice in 2003 and 2007 when the GymDogs recorded eight scores of 197.000 or higher.
Bars Lineup is Trending Upward
The GymDogs have scored a 49.400 or higher on bars in the last three meets and four of the last five. Georgia’s bars ranking debuted at No. 10 and has risen to No. 5 nationally. Lily Smith ranks sixth in the country and Georgia has three of the top 15 in the SEC. Georgia has posted 17 scores of 9.900 or higher on bars and have combined for seven bars event champions. The GymDogs had four scores of 9.900 or better against No. 4 Florida and stuck all six routines.
The Sky’s the Limit on the Floor
The GymDogs rank second on the floor exercise with a 49.483 NQS. Georgia has 21 scores of 9.900 or better in the event this season. Lily Smith ranks second nationally with an NQS of 9.960 and has won the event in every meet, while CaMarah Williams ranks seventh (9.920 NQS).
Snyder Returns to GymDog Lineups
After missing five meets due to injury, junior Holly Snyder returned to the bars and beam lineups against Florida on Feb. 20. She tallied a season-high 9.900 on bars and recorded a 9.850 on beam in her reutn. She recorded a 9.925 in back-to-back weeks on beam to open the season, the only beam routines of her career.
Smith Captures SEC Specialist of the Week Honors
Lily Smith has been named the SEC Specialist of the Week on Feb. 17. The award is Smith’s first SEC Specialist of the Week award in her career. She was a five-time Freshman of the Week in 2024. The highlight of Smith’s meet at Metroplex came on floor, where she anchored the lineup with a 9.975 to win the event title. The junior has recorded scores of 9.950 or higher on floor in all seven of Georgia’s meets this season. Saturday’s routine marked Smith’s 14th career score of 9.950 or better on the event. Smith also captured the bars title with a 9.950 to match her season high, leading the GymDogs to a season-best 49.475 on the apparatus. Smith added a 9.925 on beam to open the meet, placing second individually.
Aquino Provides Consistency in Vault, Floor Lineups
Sophomore Nyla Aquino has competed on vault and floor in all eight of Georgia’s meets. She’s tallied nine scores of 9.900 or better (4 vault, 5 floor). She’s already topped her total from last season when she had two on vault and six on floor. Aquino currently ranks 12th nationally on vault (9.890 NQS) and 11th on floor (9.920 NQS).
Williams Clicking Early
Despite just arriving on campus in December, freshman CaMarah Williams is already a huge contributor to the GymDog lineup. She’s scored a 9.900 or better in five of eight floor routines, and owns season-high scores of 9.950 or better on her three events. The Kansas City native holds five event titles to her name this season, three of which were won in the meet against Auburn on Feb. 1, and ranks seventh on floor with a 9.920 NQS. She’s has the second-most scores of 9.900 or better on the team with 10.
Defending Our Home Floor
Georgia holds a 9-2 record at Stegeman Coliseum in the Canqueteau-Landi/Roberts era. The GymDogs went 4-1 at home in 2025 and opened the home schedule in 2026 with an upset of No. 2 LSU. In nine home meets, Georgia has averaged a team score of 197.317 in front of an average of 8,966 fans. Georgia’s home score average in 2026 is 197.438.
